What color is a Lilac Ragdoll Cat? Are they purple?
A Lilac Ragdoll Cat is not purple as its name may suggest. The word ‘lilac’ is merely a technical term used by Cat Associations to describe the color pattern. A Lilac Ragdoll is similar to a Blue Ragdoll, but its color is much lighter and has a pinkish tinge. A Lilac Ragdoll’s body is milk-white in color, and its points present as lavender-pink.
Is Lilac a recognized Ragdoll Cat Color?
Lilac is one of the six recognized traditional Ragdoll breed colors, alongside Seal, Blue, Chocolate, Flame and Cream, recognized by the main cat showing organizations; The International Cat Association (TICA) and the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA).
Lilac Ragdoll Patterns
The Lilac colored Ragdoll appears in all three official variety of patterns – bicolor, colorpoint and mitted. Plus, it also presents in the tortie and lynx variations.
Lilac Color Point Ragdoll
A Lilac Color Point’s extremities, the paws, tail, ears, nose and face, are a very light grey with pinkish tones. Its nose leather and paw pads are a lavender-pink. A Lilac Ragdoll’s body coat color is a glacial white.

Lilac Mitted Ragdoll
A Lilac mitted Ragdoll appears similar to the Lilac Color point, but their paws and chin have white ‘mitts’. They also have a belly stripe that runs from their chin to their genitals. A Mitted Ragdoll can sometimes have a white spot on their face, making it look like a blaze, star or hourglass.

A Lilac Bicolor Ragdoll will have an inverted V mask marking on the face. Its paws will also be white with pink paw pads.

A Lilac Lynx Ragdoll has a pale grey/pinkish face with tabby markings. Their nose can be either lavender-pink or pink edged in lavender-pink.

What is the difference between the Blue and Lilac colorpoint Ragdoll?
A Blue Colorpoint Ragdoll is a much darker grey than the Lilac point. The Lilac’s points will also present with a pink hue. A Lilac Point has milk-white fur on its body instead of the creamy grey fur of the Blue Point.
Are Lilac Ragdolls rare?
Lilac is the rarest color of Ragdoll cats.
